Did the world Respect Danity Kane when they were around? Would you support a comeback?
Almost daily my Twitter Timeline is plagued with Danity Kane lyrics or tweets begging for the band to reunite, but I always question where was this support when the group was together?
Yes the debut album from the group went platinum, barely and the girls toured, but many of the shows were canceled due to low sales. They barely got any radio play but yet had major views for their show “Making the band”. It seems like the fans supported the show more than the music.
It is almost like Danity Kane was hit with the “You don’t know what you have until its gone” syndrome. The dynamic of the group was amazing. The image of the group had cross over international super group potential. But what they did not have is the support and respect they needed.
Listening to old interviews of the group are almost painful. From Wendy Williams telling Shannon she couldn’t and would not remember her name during an interview to Charlemagne, asking Dawn why she dressed poor, after she had lost everything in hurricane Katrina, it just seems like the world thought Danity Kane was a joke, mainly because of the show.
But once the group dismantled, the world realized! Everyone was like WAIT that group was the Sh*t. Forget the show. They had some hits! And don’t get me started on their interludes. Hell most of Danity Kane’s interludes are better than some peoples albums! But by that time it was too late. The label and group members were fed up, and the world had just started to love Danity Kane as a group.
So my question is, if Danity Kane came back, which I doubt, would they have the support needed from fans, labels, radio, dj’s Etc? Would Danity Kane be welcomed?
Better yet, is Danity Kane even missed? Or can they be replaced?
